To use the tool bank, make enquiries ring Brendan on 2440353 at these times.

Membership is free to residents of S3, S4 and S5 with proof of identification, (Birth Certificate, Passport, Driving License etc). Reduced rates are available to members on benefit as long as evidence of receipt of benefit is provided at the time of the loan.

PLEASE NOTE, late returns will incur additional hire charges.

The idea of having a Tool Bank is to reduce peoples costs by sharing tools rather than duplicating individual ownership and also to have a pool of items which are not needed very often which would be expensive to hire.

At Green City Action, we aim to provide a large range of tools for our resources as well as give help and guidance on using the tools. We have items for decorating, car repair, cycle maintenance, gardening, building and DIY tools of all kinds. Not only do we lend tools, we try hard to pass on the skills to enable people to use them. This also helps members to build confidence.

Amongst many other pieces of equipment we have a power tools (drills, sanders, electric planer, jig saw, screw guns etc), carpet cleaner, jet wash, hose pipes, hedge trimmers, strimmers, lawn mowers and many, many more.

Community Group Tools A separate set of tools has been purchased for community groups to use for cleanups and environmental projects. This equipment consists of spades, forks, rakes and wheelbarrows etc.

Where ever possible garden advice and practical help with the local gardens is given enabling people to make choices of what they plant and how it can be maintained. Another way to encourage members to take up gardening is by using our very popular seed exchange. A wide range of vegetables and flowers seeds are on offer free of charge.
